Large hail, damaging winds, tornadoes and flash flooding will all be possible in the Ozarks through Tuesday.
The National Weather Service says strong to severe storms will impact areas mainly along and west of Highway 65 late Monday afternoon through the evening as an unstable airmass interacts with a warm front moving north through the Ozarks.
The main threat with the first round of storms will be large hail the size of golf balls and damaging winds up to 70 miles per hour.
Late Monday evening, severe weather is expected to continue, with all modes of severe storms possible.
On Tuesday, we’ll see another round of strong to severe thunderstorms across southwest Missouri with all modes of severe weather possible, including tornadoes.
There’s a growing potential for flash flooding, with a Flash Flood Watch in effect from Monday at 1 p.m. through Tuesday evening.
Total rainfall amounts of one to three inches are expected, with locally higher amounts possible.
