The mayor has asked Springfield City Council to hire a hearing examiner to look into some complaints filed against Councilwoman Jan Fisk.
Council will decide whether to hire the examiner at its meeting on Monday.
Someone filed a conflict of interest complaint saying Fisk and her family business, Fisk Limosines, benefited from work done for the city.
The Missouri Ethics Commission referred the case for review earlier this year.
The city’s legal department recused itself, hiring outside counsel to handle the case.
