The Springfield Fire Department has released the name of the victim from the house fire on West Monroe Terrace on October 10.
The Greene County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 29-year-old Zachary S. Denney.
It was just after midnight on Oct. 10, the Springfield Fire Department was notified of a possible house fire at 1025 W. Monroe Terrace with reports of persons possibly inside.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire involvement and partial collapse of a vacant residential structure.
A single fire victim was located.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined and is under investigation by the Fire Department.
