Mayor Ken McClure is inviting the city of Springfield to attend the inaugural Home for the Holidays event on Monday.
The event was started by the mayor as a way to help those soldiers at Fort Leonard wood who are stuck, unable to come home for the Holidays.
The mayor will give a short address to the troops, and then both soldiers and the public are invited to the Welcome Rally at Bass Pro Shops at 10 in the morning.
