The Webster County Sheriff’s Office says a man is hospitalized after being shot Friday near Marshfield.

Authorities responded to a shots fired call east of Marshfield around 4 p.m. where they found a victim with a gunshot wound in the head.

The man was rushed to the hospital and suffers life-threatening injuries.

Sheriff Roye Cole says the incident was isolated and there is not expected to be a threat to the public.

Investigators believe that drugs may have been involved.
