Springfield’s largest tourist attraction is temporarily closing its doors because of the coronavirus pandemic.
A spokeswoman for Bass Pro Shops says the change is effective immediately until the company can get further clarity about recently imposed restrictions.
Bass Pro was allowed to conduct limited business on Thursday, but says it shares the frustration of many local businesses when it comes to inconsistencies with the new operating guidelines.
The spokeswoman also says it spent many hours working with city leaders to meet and exceed every guideline for public health, including reducing store hours and limiting the number of customers in the store at one time.
