Wind Damage, Tornado Warnings in the Ozarks Tuesday Evening

Multiple thunderstorm cells causing wind damage and tornado warnings swept through the Ozarks Tuesday night.

Reports of trees crashing through houses in Sarcoxie and Seymour came in during the three hours the storms were in the KTTS listening area.

KTTS also received reports of trees down in Ash Grove, on Farm Road 120 and Highway F, and Kansas and Chestnut.

Wind damage to a barn in Ash Grove caused it to lean eastward, and 3 out buildings were destroyed on the Greene-Webster county line.

Storms trailing in a line through Kansas and Oklahoma made their way into southwest Missouri Ozarks this evening with a tornado warning around 6 o’clock.

The storms picked up speed and intensity, moving into Lawrence, McDonald, Dade, and Barton counties before moving in a line to the Springfield Metro area.

No tornado warning was issued for Springfield, but Nixa and Ozark in Christian County saw a tornado warning that quickly spurred more warnings for Webster, Wright, and Douglas counties.

The only sighting of a tornado Tuesday night was by a trained spotter in Sarcoxie in Jasper County, who reported a tornado on Blackberry road, west of the city.
