The federal government has given over $11,000 dollars to the town of McCord Bend in Stone County to install an emergency warning siren. McCord Bend has been without a storm warning system for 15 years.
The grant was given by the U. S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development. The Rural Development division gives funds to eligible municipalities, public bodies, nonprofits, and federally recognized Native American Tribes.
