Arkansas Fugitive Arrested Near Lampe

A fugitive wanted for firing shots at deputies in Carroll County, Arkansas has been arrested in Lampe.

The Stone County Sheriff says Benjamin Reagan was trying to kidnap someone last month when Carroll County deputies arrived.

He fired shots at them and took off.

Barry County deputies stopped him near Eagle Rock Wednesday, but he ran off into the woods.

Several law enforcement agencies searched for him for several weeks before he was eventually arrested at a home on Highway 86 in Stone County.

On Wednesday, July 7th, Deputies from Barry County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance in following up on a vehicle that was driven by Ben Reagan during a traffic stop in Eagle Rock when Reagan fled on foot.

Stone County Deputies responded with them to a residence at 5621 East Hwy 86 in Lampe, Mo.

When they arrived on scene, further investigation led to inconsistencies which led deputies to believe Reagan was inside the residence.

A perimeter was formed around the residence and additional Deputies responded.

Officers from Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Barry County Sheriff’s Office, Mo State Highway Patrol and the US Marshalls all responded to assist.

After several hours, phone contact was made with Mr Reagan.

After speaking with him, he was negotiated into walking out of the residence.

Mr. Reagan walked out with his hands up and surrender without incident.

Ben Reagan is currently incarcerated at the Stone County Jail on multiple warrants from both Missouri and Arkansas.

They include:

  • Parole Violation
  • Original Charge Dangerous Drugs, Felony, No Bond
  • Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Shoot from a Motor Vehicle towards or at a Motor Vehicle or Person, Class B Felony, No Bond
  • Unlawful use of a Weapon, Exhibiting a Weapon, Class E Felony, No Bond
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Class D Felony, No Bond
  • Property Damage 1st Degree, Class E Felony, No Bond
  • Driving while Suspended or Revoked, Class A Misdemeanor X 2
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle without Financial Responsibility, Class D Misdemeanor X 2
  • Bond of Misdemeanors set at $5,000 cash or surety

Arkansas Warrants include:

  • Attempted Murder of a Police Officer X 2
  • Kidnapping
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Possess Firearm by Certain Persons
  • Fleeing on Foot
  • Misdemeanors form Arkansas include
  • Failure to appear X 4 on Obstruction of a Government Official
  • Fleeing,
  • Driving on Suspended License
  • No Insurance
  • Theft of Property

Arkansas Warrants are from an incident on June 12th when Reagan was attempting to kidnap and individual in Carroll County.

When deputies arrived on scene, he fired his rifle at them multiple times and then fled into the woods.

When Reagan was stopped in Barry County and fled on foot, multiple weapons, along with C4 Explosives, were located in the vehicle he was driving.

Ben Reagan has been a priority for Law Enforcement to apprehend since that occurrence.

He has been tracked in both Missouri and Arkansas over the past weeks by the Federal Marshals, State Patrol and Stone, Barry and Carroll County Deputies.
