The Missouri Supreme Court has heard arguments about a key piece of evidence in the death of 16-year-old Savannah Leckie.
Her remains were found in a burn pile in Ozark County.
Her mother, Rebecca Ruud, faces several charges in her death.
Prosecutors say Ruud gave them a recording of her talking with her attorneys investigators.
Prosecutors say Ruud admits she admits she’s guilty on the tape.
The defense wants the evidence thrown out.
But one Supreme Court justice says Ruud gave the tape away, without any instructions about keeping it confidential.
Ruud’s husband, Robert Peat, Jr., is also charged with her daughter’s death.
Ruud married Peat on the day her daughter’s remains were found.
