Three Joplin Police Officers have been shot after an altercation broke out with a suspect.
The shooting occurred on Tuesday around 1 p.m. near 4th and Rangeline.
Officers responded to the scene where a suspect began shooting, hitting two officers.
The suspect then led officers on a chase, ending near 9th and Connecticut. Police say the suspect exchanged more shots where another officer was injured. The suspect was shot as well.
The three officers and the suspect were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
No information has been released at this time regarding the conditions of the officers.
The city of Joplin will be holding a press conference Wednesday morning around 9 AM.
