(KTTS News) — Springfield Police have ruled the shooting deaths of two men found inside the National Cemetery on East Seminole a murder-suicide.

Someone called 911 after finding the bodies of 38-year-old Mark Young and 46-year-old Justin Baker on January 31.

Both men were from Springfield.

On January 31, 2022, at 1:23 p.m., Springfield Police Department officers were dispatched to the National Cemetery at 1702 E. Seminole following a 911 call regarding two deceased males at the cemetery with apparent gunshot wounds.

The deceased males were identified as Mark D. Young, 38, and Justin S. Baker, 46, from Springfield, Missouri.

The families of the victims were notified of their deaths and have been kept informed during the investigation.

The Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit has completed the investigation and determined these deaths to be the result of a murder-suicide.

The Springfield Police Department is not seeking any suspects.

There is no danger to the public and the case is now closed.
