(KTTS News) — Prosecutors have dropped the charges against a woman in Benton County after she agreed to testify against a couple charged with killing her four-year-old daughter.
Mary Mast pleaded guilty to child endangerment.
Prosecutors charged Mary and her husband, James, along with their neighbors Ethan Mast and Courtney Aumen.
Ethan is not related to the couple.
Investigators say the girl was beaten with a belt and thrown in a pond.
Ethan Mast and Courtney Aumen told deputies they were trying to remove a demon.
Ethan pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and first-degree assault charges in February of 2022.
