(KTTS) – A Springfield man was arrested for the death of a woman from Walnut Shade and for possession of meth following a two vehicle crash earlier this week.
48-year-old Richard Rogers is charged with driving while intoxicated involving a death.
The crash happened Monday afternoon near Saddlebrooke.
The Highway Patrol said Rogers was driving a pickup on U.S. Highway 65 when he crossed onto Missouri 176 and hit an SUV.
Both vehicles traveled down an embankment and came to rest.
The driver of the SUV, 55-year-old Sandra Puckett of Walnut Shade, was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A man in the SUV had serious injuries.
Troop D reported this as their 57th fatality crash for the year.
