(KTTS News) — Some explosions were heard this morning at a power plant in northwest Jasper County.
Liberty Utilities demolished its Asbury Power Plant in northwest Jasper County.
The 200 megawatt power plant went online in 1970 but was retired in 2020.
The site is now known as the Asbury Renewables Operation Center, or AROC.
A substation will remain at the site.
