(KTTS News) — A lemur on the run after escaping from his owners has been found safe, thanks to some help from Springfield Police.
Police got a call Tuesday night about a lemur in the road at Kimbrough and Woodland.
Two officers managed to get the furry creature wrapped up in a towel after a short chase.
The owners were reunited with their missing pet, but weren’t allowed to keep it.
City ordinances don’t allow wild animals, including lemurs, within the city limits.
It’s been turned over to a local wildlife rescue agency.
