(KTTS News) — Missouri’s US House members voted mostly along party lines on whether to keep Kevin McCarthy as speaker.

McCarthy was voted out of his job Tuesday by a vote of 216 to 210.

Missouri Republicans voted to keep him in office, while Democrats sided with eight hard-line Republicans from other states to force him out.

Democrat Cori Bush, who was not present, did not vote.
