(KTTS News) — A man who pleaded guilty to stealing catalytic converters from cars in north Springfield has been ordered to pay restitution and perform community service.
40-year-old John Griffith from Springfield was given a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to the charges in August.
Griffith and another man were arrested after someone who lived an apartment on North Kentwood saw his car was jacked up and followed the men’s car.
When police stopped their car, they found catalytic converters matching the cut marks on some cars, along with pipe cutters and reciprocating saws.
Police also found drug paraphenalia.
