(KTTS News) — A man has been sentenced to five years probation and ordered to take an anger management class after a domestic disturbance back in July 2021
Elija Ballard from Springfield entered an Alford plea in November.
An Alford plea is not an admission of guilt.
It’s an admission that there’s enough evidence to find you guilty of a crime.
Court records show Ballard choked a woman during an argument.
He also threw the woman against a wall, a dresser, and onto the floor.
Authorities say Ballard later fired a shot at one of the woman’s relatives after he confronted Ballard.
The shot grazed the side of the man’s head.
