(KTTS News) — First Interstate 70, now Interstate 44?
Work begins this summer on the expansion of I-70 across Missouri, and improvements to I-44 might not be too far behind.
In his final State of the State address, Governor Parson announced more federal funding for the I-70 expansion project.
Congressman Sam Graves recently secured another $90 million in federal funding for the project.
Parson said the state has done a great job on its own of coming up with money for the project.
He now wants to use some of the savings to help refurbish I-44.
“We’re announcing our recommendation to establish the I-44 Improvment Fund,” Parson said. “That’s right, we aren’t just laying the foundation to expand one intertate across our state — but two interstates.”
