(Springfield’s News Talk 104.1) – A new name will be added to the Hall of Famous Missourians.
Marie Watkins Oliver, hailed as the “Betsy Ross of Missouri,” played a key role in designing and crafting the Missouri State Flag.
In recognition of her efforts and impact on the Show-Me State, House Speaker Plocher will be presenting the Oliver bust to join the Hall of Famous Missourians.
The induction ceremony will take place in the Missouri House chamber on Monday, April 15.
The ceremony will start at 1 PM.
A reception will follow in the 3rd floor rotunda.
