Just in time for the first day of summer Friday, temps in the 90’s and heat index readings pushing 100.
The National Weather Service says the heat and humidity will continue through Saturday.
If you’re outdoors, make sure to drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and check on your elderly friends and family.
Prolonged exposure to heat and humidity can cause heat exhaustion or a heat stroke.
You should never leave kids or pets unattended in vehicles as the heat can become lethal very quickly.
