Authorities in Webster County rushed to a house near Fordland on Thursday, showing up in swat gear and other equipment, expecting a hostage situation after receiving a call.
However, on arriving they found that there was no emergency and the call was a hoax.
Pranking someone by calling swat teams to their house is called “swatting” and outside of being extremely dangerous, costs police forces and emergency departments time and resources.
