Police in Monett have released the name of a student who was found dead this week in a field north of Monett High School.
Sergio Salas was 14.
He was found Monday, September 16, around 5:20 p.m.
The school district says Salas was an eighth grader at Monett middle school.
Police say his death appears to be a suicide.
Salas had a gunshot wound.
An autopsy found no signs of any foul play.
Police are still waiting for toxicology results to come back in the case.
