Dangerous heat is filtering into much of the Ozarks Wednesday.
The National Weather Service says heat index readings will range from 100 to 110, and if you have to be outside, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
You’re also urged to drink plenty of water, even if you’re not thirsty.
And never leave kids or pets unattended in vehicles.
A heat advisory is in effect for most of southwest Missouri through 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
