A senior linebacker for the Republic Tigers football team will need surgery, but is expected to be okay after being injured in a Sea-Doo accident over the weekend.

A Facebook post by the team says Austin O’Hara broke several bones when his watercraft hit a wake and went airborne Sunday at Fisher Creek Cove on Table Rock Lake.

O’Hara came back down and hit the watercraft on his fall.

The family posted this statement through the Facebook page:

On behalf of the O’Hara family, Chris, Mandie and Lauren would like to share that Austin is doing okay. He has a broken femur, a fractured patella, a broken arm, a fractured nose. He is to have surgery in the morning on his femur, they will put in a rod from his hip down to his knee. They will also put a plate in his arm. They appreciate your thoughts, prayers and love!
