A shooting in St. Louis has sent a police officer to a local hospital, where he’s in stable condition.

Officers tried to pull over a driver Sunday night for not having a license plate.

The man pulled to the side of the road, but then sped off and a passenger started firing shots at police.

The officer was shot in the shoulder.

No one has been arrested.

The officer, who’s 35, is a 12 year veteran of the police department.

He’s the ninth officer in the city to be shot since June 1.
