The father of a child who was the subject of a statewide Amber Alert has been charged in Douglas County.
Prosecutors say Chad Emmerson, 53, took his son Thursday after a fight with his wife.
Investigators say he assaulted his wife and then fired a shot inside a closed garage at their home.
KY3 reports the Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert the next day.
Emmerson returned the boy to his wife through a third-party about two hours later.
