(KTTS News) — Voters in Ozark County approved a half-cent sales tax for law enforcement in November, but it won’t go into effect.
The Department of Revenue says the county can’t charge any more sales tax because it already has the maximum allowed by law.
KY3 says the $400,000 generated by the tax would have been used to hire more deputies, fix the jail, and patrol the streets.
