(KTTS News) — The Ash Grove school board has asked for a recount after a $9.4 million dollar bond issue narrowly failed at the polls last week.
The issue passed in Greene and Dade Counties, but failed in Lawrence County.
56.7-percent of voters in Greene, Dade, and Lawrence counties said yes to the project.
But bond issues in April require at least a 57.1-percent voter approval.
The bond money would have paid for six new classrooms, restrooms, and a new gym that would have served as a storm shelter.
