(KTTS News) — Springfield City Council has approved using a $4 million dollar grant from the state to make improvements and do maintenance at Hammons Field.

Council accepted the grant at Monday night’s meeting.

The city bought Hammons Field and two parking lots for $12 million dollars.

The John Q. Hammons Charitable Trust formerly owned the stadium.
