(KTTS News) — The Springfield School Board could decide the fate of two elementary schools tonight.

There’s a public hearing and potential vote Tuesday, January 16 at 4 p.m. about whether to close Robberson Elementary School.

If that happens, students would be sent to Boyd Elementary School.

A second meeting will follow at 5:30 p.m. on a potential vote to close Pershing Elementary School.

If the school closes, those students would be sent to Wilder or Field elementary schools.

Both hearings will be held at the Kraft Administrative Center at 1359 E. Saint Louis Street in Springfield, with the regular school board meeting at 7 p.m.

A study recommended using classroom space at the old Pershing Elementary to expand Pershing Middle School.

Voters approved a $220 million bond issue that includes $50 million for renovations there.
